Responsibilities
Ghafari Associates, LLC., is looking for a CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR to join the team. Candidates may work 100% remote or in-office/hybrid in one of our six locations in the U.S. (Birmingham, AL, Chicago, IL, Dearborn, MI, Fort Worth, TX, Grand Rapids, MI, or Indianapolis, IN)
The Construction Administrator serves as the administrative project lead throughout the construction process and is responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the construction phase including record keeping, communication, and quality assurance.
Essential Job Functions:
Process / monitor submittals and RFIs using Ghafari’s file management system or Client required systems (i.e. Prolog, BIM 360, Bluebeam…)
Coordinate project contact lists for distribution of submittals and RFIs
Coordinate directly with contractors for implementation and adherence to the submittal and RFI process
Adhere to accepted industry and company standards
Directly support Project Management tracking / reporting status of processes
Provide leadership to project team on processes and procedures to be utilized
Coordinate training for project team on processes and procedures to be utilized
Lead Construction Administration Kick-off meetings to coordinate project requirements
Provide training on an as-needed basis to those in a similar role and/or those who may be covering during an absence
Coordinate other aspect of the Construction Administration Phase of a project as requested (i.e. Field Reports, Punchlist, site Photos….)
Maintain company Construction Administration policies and procedures
Participate in research and development of new technologies and tools related to the Construction Administration processes
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- Associates degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management preferred
Experience:
5+ years of multidisciplinary construction administration experience
Familiarity with the architectural and engineering industry, including understanding of the construction process involving the AE design team and the contractors.
Understanding of specifications
Skills/Competencies:
General understanding of a project’s scope of work.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Strong time management skills
Strong multi-tasking skills
Experienced using BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
Knowledgeable with Microsoft Project, SureTrack, Expedition, Prolog, BIM360 or similar software commonly used in Construction Administration.
