Ghafari Structural Designer/Drafter in Dearborn, Michigan

Job Description:

General Summary:

The Structural Designer/Drafter, with general direction from the Manager of Structural Engineering and/or project engineer, will apply Revit skills and knowledge in drafting engineering design documents and provide Revit technical support in the discipline of structural engineering and related coordination for process and building systems .

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create engineering documents using Revit

  • Work closely with architects and engineers during design phase of a project to understand the scope of the project information to determine design basis, data and Revit needs and guidelines for the project. After needs are determined, provide assistance to setup Revit model files and quality control measures when relating to client standards.

  • Make corrections, and produce final documents for engineers to review. Check for integration of sections and coordination of disciplines. Work with architects and engineers to resolve document coordination and production problems.

  • Assist in training programs relating to current/new releases of Revit and technical analysis/design software, and assist in reviewing new upgrades/releases of software.

  • Participate in benchmarking new software and provide feedback to Systems Support.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Employment Qualifications:


  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or Construction Technology


  • 5+ years related and progressively more responsible experience producing structural engineering documents


  • Proficient user of Revit
