Ghafari Project Architect/PM (Global) in Dearborn, Michigan

Responsibilities

The Project Architect/PM will support the dealership renovation efforts of clients in the U.S. by leading the production of technical drawings and specifications, and coordinating the related work of the other disciplines. This position will will be required to travel up to 25% of the time to international destinations. A valid passport is required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Hold on-site meetings to communicate facility design options with dealership executives until a design which meets the client’s branding requirements is chosen.

  • Prepare pre-schematic design services (architectural programming), as built reviews, and site and space analyses.

  • Establish the factual parameters of the design work (e.g., code, site restrictions, budget, and schedule restraints), identify building systems options and related performance and cost criteria, and assist in the presentation of design documents.

  • Formulate the project work plan based on an approved scope of work and lead the execution of the various tasks identified therein.

  • Set the project schedule and budget, and identifying changes to the scope of the work and related repercussions on project schedule and budget. Advise the Vice President of changes in the project workload.

  • Prepare site plans, floor plans, elevations and cost estimates.

  • Perform all in-house construction administration duties: respond to RFI’s, review and approve shop drawings, issue bulletins, etc.; assist in providing field-representation services (at the request of the Vice President)

  • Coordinate on-site meetings with local architects, dealers and contractors, municipalities, and provide assistance to insure on-time installations for all trades.

  • Update management with spreadsheets and online facility status reports and budgets.

  • Performs related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Employment Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering required; Masters preferred.

  • Registered Architect/Professional Engineer preferred

Experience:

  • 7+ years related architecture experience

  • Previous experience managing projects and/or project teams is preferred

Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and the Microsoft Suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to travel at least 1 week each month to an international location. A valid passport is required.
