Ghafari Program Coordinator in Dearborn, Michigan


General Summary:

The Program Coordinator works in support of the Project Manager on large projects to assist with project administration and general project management. In collaboration with the Project Manager and/or Senior Engineers, the Coordinator participates in the preparation and development of Ghafari services and deliverables. The Operations and Systems Engineering (OSE) Program Coordinator will help ensure project deliverable quality, develop client relationships, and perform project assignments to assist project team members and clients.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Understand basics of mechanical systems and manufacturing processesin the OSE discipline that they support.These include those related to some or all: conveyors/material handling, product finishing systems & equipment,fluidhandling and delivery equipment, piping and ventilation, line display equipment, as well as pneumatic, hydraulic applications and electrical controls and power.

  • Understand and be familiar with factory and site safety codes + standards.

  • Understand and be familiar with client specifications, Ghafari scope of work and services, and project schedules.

  • Understand contract documents, technical and commercial.

  • Maintain project records including documentation of communications and directions given and received, and authorizations.

  • Participate with project team and client, as directed, to prepare or edit project meeting minutes, detailed schedules, generate specifications and reports.

  • Track and communicate project status, both internally and externally.

  • Participate in the review and approval of contractor engineering submittals, if qualified.

  • Assist in the management and coordination of resources, including internal and external engineering, contractors, vendors, and skilled trades to complete projects in a timely manner.

  • Assist in field checking of existing equipment, sites and facilities. Do field audits of new and/or existing equipment and systems and enter findings into database(s).

  • Must be available for periodic travel to meet with clients or visit sites to promote project success.


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in management, architecture, engineering or related course of study is highly preferred.

  • Alternatively, formal professional project management training and/or certification.

  • Prefer 5 to 10 years of related work experience


  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Familiar with MS Project

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiar withmaterial handling design and engineering

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Familiar withAutoCAD, 3D modeling software to allow viewing, mark-ups, and/or plotting/printing

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Previous work with BIM 360 advantageous
