Ghafari Master Planner in Dearborn, Michigan
The Master Planning Team is responsible for having a broad understanding of all facilities and general requirements for a variety of building types within the client. They are responsible for forecasting and communication of future facility needs for client's North American portfolio (i.e.: commercial office, corporate office, research and engineering centers) as well as providing guidance and assistance to other regions. This team provides strategic design oversite and architectural review to align all company projects with the corporate guidelines and development master plans. Candidate shall have strong skills in architectural design, urban planning, as well as in creation of graphic content to communicate strategy to the project teams and leadership. This position is to be a liaison and strategist for the company to align projects with the future vision of the overall organization through built environment and workspace.
Within this role there is a high level of interaction with the client's team members and internal/external business partners.
Work in a collaborative fashion with the Global Master Planning team and other Skill Teams to align projects and strategies with the goals and objective of our development master plans.
Conduct feasibility studies for campus development and redevelopment opportunities
Provide architectural guidance and review on dedicated projects from early conceptual design and programming through construction administration
Maintain standard datasets and graphics for use by client including area maps, flow charts & diagrams, conceptual site & facility plans, building lists, key statistics, and master plan documentation.
Modify or create 3D “massing” type architectural and site drawings for use in presentations.
Drive the use of new technologies to maximize the repeatability, quality, reuse and efficiency of materials created (updates and revisions are frequent in the planning process).
Maintain versioning of master planning documents, plan options, supporting financial and strategy narratives
Drive strategy in the areas of sustainability, signage, campus amenities, mobility, and others.
Support and maintain positive working relationships with government authorities, municipalities, and the communities in which we operate. Ensure that our facilities comply with local codes, laws and recommended practices.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Planning, Urban Planning, or Engineering.
Minimum 5 years industry experience in architecture or urban planning.
WELL or LEED certification desired.
Experience in complex, large scale, facility development, construction or operations.
Knowledge of industry best practices in construction, sustainability, and technology.
Experience in commercial, corporate and research facility design.
Proficient in strategizing, communications and graphic arts
Leadership skills necessary to stay abreast of and advise on multiple projects of diverse types/scales.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to positively represent the company.
Organized with documentation and record retention.
Strong Communication Skills (both written and oral)
Highly skilled with software systems used for content creation including: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In-Design, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel (charting/graphically communicate numeric information), Microsoft Word, Miro, and Bluescape
Moderate skills in manipulation of 3D graphics and renderings created in Sketchup, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3DSMax or other 3D rendering software.
Proficiency in construction document systems including: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, Archibus, Microsoft Project and BIM360.
Proficiency in portfolio mapping. Skillsets in ESRI and other portfolio mapping tools preferred.
Ability to work within a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment
Self-starter, able to coordinate a vast array of projects with varying timelines, managing the project team and reporting out to leadership.
Ability communicate strategy, design and intent through multi-media information and graphics
Financial and business acumen to maximize benefits/returns to the company
Discipline in working with highly confidential information
Ability to work within outlook 365 and similar digital content sharing platforms
