Ghafari Electrical Engineer (Building Design/Lighting/Power Distribution) in Dearborn, Michigan


The Electrical Engineer will provide on-site design and engineering drawing reviews for new construction and/or renovation of projects related to industrial, commercial and/or lab/testing facilities/sites.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Possess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design or analyze electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of architectural, electrical and mechanical components using applicable codes including lighting & power distribution systems, low voltage systems (e.g. fire alarm systems, telecommunications/data networks, lighting control systems, and power monitoring systems), sizing of equipment, etc.

  • Manage or lead a project team

  • Possess / demonstrate full understanding, application, and interpretation of the NFPA, as they relate to electrical engineering

  • Able to adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule

  • Possess / demonstrate the graphic ability to produce /review construction documents per company standards

  • Edit or draft project specifications

  • Conduct field measuring and checking at the construction site

  • Perform related duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred

  • Professional Registration

  • LEED accredited professional qualification preferred


  • 5+ years of related and progressively more responsible experience in electrical engineering field


  • Knowledge and application skills for design of facilities power and lighting systems; design team leadership

  • Computer applications skills for production of design documentation, including Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and Word), Autodesk (Revit, AutoCAD)

  • Engineering software for power and lighting, short-circuit analysis (e.g. ETAP)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong attention to detail
