Ghafari Senior ICT + Security Designer in Chicago, Illinois
Provide data, telecommunication, fire alarm, security, wireless LAN, acoustic calculations, audio visual systems design for new construction and/or renovation of industrial or commercial structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes. Provide the engineering to develop the construction documents for the installation, telecommunication and security networks.
Essential Job Functions:
Possess / demonstrates the engineering knowledge and understanding to design or analyze telecom and security systems, low voltage systems :fire alarm systems, telecommunications, data networks, lighting control systems, power monitoring systems, etc.), sizing of equipment, etc.
Review and/or establish project scope, electrical budget, design approach, and applicable constraints with the Project Manager or client as appropriate.
Knowledge of all aspects of BICSI/ANSI guidelines and NFPA -72, as they apply to the design.
Able to completely design a Public Address System.
Able to design audio visual systems.
Able to provide threat and security analysis reports for various types of facilities.
Able to adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule.
Perform production and quality monitoring of construction documents per company standards.
Communicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.
Edit or draft project specifications.
Develop and mentor less experienced staff.
Develop accurate project cost estimates.
Conduct field measuring and checking at the construction site.
Maintain organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.
Review project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformance.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree required
RCDD certification preferred
Security Certification CPP PSP from ASIS or ICAO preferred
10+ years of related experience
- Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel and MSWord, Autodesk (Revit and AutoCAD); Acoustic Calculators EASE, BIM360
